What you should know
The iPhone 15 moves several formerly Pro-only conveniences into the standard model: the Dynamic Island, a higher-resolution main camera and a USB-C connector. Its small size remains the strongest practical distinction from the Plus rather than a claim of superior photography.
Hardware and display
Key published specifications for Apple iPhone 15: A16 Bionic; 6.1-inch OLED; 48MP main camera; USB-C; iOS 17 at launch. This configuration summary describes the cited product family; exact radio bands, storage, SIM arrangement and charger contents can vary by market. It should not be mistaken for a hands-on performance test.
Independent testing and real-world implications
GSMArena’s September 2023 review evaluates a noticeably refined default iPhone, with a camera upgrade that makes everyday framing more flexible. The A16 still gives this model capable app performance; the key purchasing question is whether a 60Hz screen feels dated next to newer midrange phones.
Drawbacks and regional variations
The standard iPhone 15 lacks a dedicated telephoto lens and high-refresh ProMotion. USB-C here does not mean the fast USB data transfer available on the Pro. Owners needing lengthy 4K recording should also compare thermal and storage requirements rather than relying on processor branding.
Who it is for — and alternatives
This is a sensible second-hand iOS choice for someone who wants a manageable screen and dependable mainstream cameras; avoid it if 120Hz display motion or long-range optical zoom is a priority. Compare iPhone 15 Pro, Pixel 8 and Galaxy S23.
Is it worth buying in October 2026?
Before buying in October 2026, examine battery capacity, USB-C port condition, Apple account/Activation Lock status and local repair history. Check current iOS compatibility directly; no fixed final support year is asserted here.
