TP-Link Deco BE65 Review and Buying Guide: Who Should Buy It?
Editorial research, not a first-hand laboratory review. Verified documents and attributed external tests were checked as of 2026-10-23. Prices and live stock are intentionally excluded.

Buyer verdict
Deco BE65 stands out for practical connectivity: four multi-gig Ethernet ports on each mesh unit can be more valuable than an exaggerated aggregate Wi-Fi rate on its carton.
Specifications that influence the purchase
Verified manufacturer or primary documentation identifies the following characteristics; pairing a feature with the right control platform still matters:
| Wifi | tri-band Wi-Fi 7 (2.4, 5, 6GHz) |
|---|---|
| Rate | BE9300 combined link-rate class, not measured user throughput |
| Ports | 4 × auto-sensing 2.5GbE per unit |
| Usb | USB 3.0 |
| Features | MLO, 320MHz support, Ethernet backhaul, WPA3 |
Smart-home purchasing needs a protocol check rather than a logo-only decision: Matter controller, Matter bridge, Zigbee hub and Thread border router are different responsibilities. Local recording or local routines may still require cloud logins, firmware updates or external hubs. Regional electrical codes and privacy law remain the buyer’s responsibility.
Limitations and real ownership trade-offs
BE9300 adds theoretical link rates across bands; it does not mean a single device will download at 9.3Gbps. HomeShield advanced security features have account and subscription considerations.
Installation, compatibility and privacy checklist
Make sure your ISP router can be bridged or configure access-point mode intentionally. Prefer Ethernet backhaul where walls weaken 6GHz. EU BE65 datasheets and port features; US BE63 differs in SKU and regional channels.
Who should skip it — and alternatives
Skip it when the principal trade-offs above collide with your home, available budget or existing ecosystem. eero Pro 7 for cleaner app-first ecosystem; Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 for advanced VLAN policy. Check local warranty and support.
How the evidence should be read
Test evidence: No WeraOne hands-on test is claimed here. Functional performance beyond documented features requires independent testing of the exact regional model and firmware.
The technical table records verified listings and explicitly labelled vendor claims; it does not substitute for testing brightness, sound, throughput, security or household performance. Unknown certifications and undisclosed specifications were deliberately not filled in by inference.
